Intuit now offers two platforms to integrate with QuickBooks: (1) the Software Development Kit which developers can use to create a application that you install on your computer and (2) the Intuit App Center which is an application that is cloud based. We have applications that run in both of these environments. It is a personal decision as to which application model works best for you so I thought I would provide you with a quick chart summarizing the major features and differences.

The Intuit Partner Platform came out of beta at the end of the first quarter of 2011 so not as many transaction types, lists and fields are supported. However, Intuit is going to continue to add new transactions and features as time goes on.
